LIMS Webcast: Spotlight On Product Testing Laboratories
Date: Wednesday, September 30, 2009
Duration: 1 Hour
Accelerated Technology Laboratories, Inc. (ATL) will host an
informational webcast on September 30, 2009 on the topic of Laboratory
Information Management Systems (LIMS). This webcast is entitled
“Spotlight on Product Testing Laboratories”. This event is ideal for
lab operations or QA/QC managers working for manufacturing firms with
product testing laboratories or commercial laboratories who provide
product testing services.
In this webcast we will focus on the challenges faced by product and material testing laboratories today. These include:
Critical need to manage significant amounts of testing
data that is analyzed and reported to a variety of departments within
an organization. It is also important that this data be communicated
quickly and efficiently as key business decisions may be riding on the
timeliness and accuracy of the test results.
Making effective use of laboratory automation
technology to increase efficiency and productivity in the lab. Besides
LIMS this also includes the use of barcode technology to automate
work-order and batch identification.
Being able to interface the chemical and
analytical test instruments in the laboratory would eliminate data
transcription errors and increase analyst productivity.
Ability to interface with ERP or MRP
applications that will receive key information from the LIMS including
test schedules generated according to production requirements.
Maintaining the history of product
development efforts over time and providing a database of results that
significantly shortens response time to customer inquiries. Also using
this database to improve the effectiveness of sales presentations.
Determining costs associated with customer
acquisition and maintenance, leading to better decisions about pricing,
client qualification and contractual terms.
Accessing secure data in ways that allow
flexibility in calculating and reporting results based on the needs of
engineering, sales, marketing, QA and regulatory departments.
Tracking laboratory performance metrics,
enabling management to respond quickly to changing business needs and
resource requirements.
Laboratory status reporting to provide a
quick, short term snapshot of the backlog, enabling rapid adjustments
to bottlenecks and testing problems.

Services for Microban International, Ltd. Microban is the global
