LIMS Webcast: Spotlight On The Meat & Poultry Industry
Date: Wednesday, January 14, 2009
Duration: 1 Hour
Accelerated Technology Laboratories, Inc. will host an informational webcast on January 14th, 2009 on the topic of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). This webcast is entitled “Spotlight on the Meat & Poultry Industry”. This event is ideal for lab operations or QA/QC managers working for meat and poultry processing firms and commercial food testing laboratories.
In this webcast we will focus on the challenges faced by meat and poultry processing firms. These include:
• Critical need for ensuring a safe food supply through improvements in laboratory efficiency and data quality.
• Using a LIMS to ensure HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) compliance.
• Need to eliminate manual data entry and associated data transcription errors by interfacing laboratory instruments to a LIMS.
• Ability to provide complete trace back capabilities from farm to table.
• Need to have real-time access to food quality data and trends and be automatically alerted to potential out-of-compliance situations.
• Using a LIMS to reduce operational costs and increase product shelf life and profitability.
Joining ATL for this webcast are two special guests:
o James Faison, VP of Science & Quality, for Marshall Durbin, one of the nation’s leading poultry processors. Marshall Durbin has implemented ATL Sample Master® LIMS and James will be talking about their journey from LIMS evaluation to implementation and providing valuable insight on what benefits the firm has gained from their investment in Sample Master® .
o Eugene Vickers, Sr., Chief-Accredited Laboratory Program, for the USDA – Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). The Accredited Laboratory Program (ALP) accredits non-federal analytical chemistry labs to analyze meat and poultry food products and is strong believer that a LIMS can help ensure ongoing accreditation. Eugene will provide an overview of the ALP for those meat and poultry producers and commercial food testing laboratories interested in the program.
This webcast is hosted by Accelerated Technology Laboratories, a market leader in the LIMS space with their Sample Master® flagship solution. ATL is a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner and has developed Sample Master® to be tightly integrated with the Microsoft Office platform and the Microsoft Server System including MS SQL Server.
