Sample Master® 8.5

The Sample Master® LIMS product line is a complete and total data management solution for various types of laboratories. Sample Master® is modular by design allowing customers to purchase only modules that are required and allowing for expansion as the laboratory grows. Sample Master® utilizes the ease and familiarity of MS Windows while using the latest versions of Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle as the database engine. Sample Master® can be used by small and large laboratories by matching the size of the database engine to the need of the laboratory.

Sample Master® uses the latest database technology, allowing flexibility when choosing hardware and software specific to the laboratories needs. It can be used on PCs over a local area or wide area network and is 100% Windows compatible. Sample Master® can be linked to any ODBC compliant SQL database because all processing occurs on the server. This provides greater processing strength and reduces network traffic.

Sample Master® is a truly scalable LIMS that will grow with your laboratory. It was designed to be used without manuals. On-line help with context sensitive lookup, on-line searching and a tutorial makes Sample Master®  easy and friendly for first time users. Sample Master® allows seamless integration with the Microsoft Office Suite, other Windows' applications, and enterprise applications such as ERP, financial and BPM.

Sample Master® is comprised of ten feature-rich modules to help manage the operations of the laboratory.

Sample Tracking - This module allows you to enter samples into the LIMS and follow their progress through the laboratory. Sample Tracking includes integrated bar coding, sample login, chain of custody, quoting and invoicing.

Data Entry - This module allows for entering and reporting sample test results, create QC Batches and Custom Reports, check the Audit Trail, run a Trend Analysis, run the GIS (Geographic Information System) function, setup Unit Conversions and use the Customer Call-up function. This module allows the laboratory personnel to enter, approve and report results with peer review. There are a dozen canned reports included.

Sample Scheduling - This module is used to automatically log in samples for routine collection. Samples can be scheduled as daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual events. Sample bottle labels and worklists can automatically be generated in advance of a sampling event.
QA/QC - This module allows users to graph results and create control charts for data that has been entered into Sample Master® . You can easily select the data to plot using criteria such as test, sample number, analyst, etc. It is just as easy to select the samples used to generate the control limits.
Electronic Data Transfer - This module allows electronic transfer of data from the instrument to Sample Master® via a variety of formats such as .xls, .csv, text (ASCII) and others. Sample Master" can be configured to scan directories to import multiple files or import data for multiple runs by file or directory. When multiple runs are imported, users can select the data to import. 
Chemical Inventory - This module allows you to track supplies and vendors. You can receive and make supplies, reconcile them, and update the supplies used in sample analysis. Users are warned when running low on supplies. Users can also assign prices, track lot numbers, vendor information and expiration dates.
Resource Management - This module is for managing instrument calibrations and repairs as well as maintain personnel training certificates. Users can view employee training records by employee, certification or test. Expiration dates are also recorded. If an instrument is out of calibration the LIMS can be set to disallow data input from the instrument that is out of calibration.
Customer Relationship Management (CRM)  - This module is used for managing customer inquires and complaints. This module will track how each contact was made by fax, e-mail, phone, etc and the severity of the issue and actions taken toward the resolution. There are also several reports including customer history, open issues by severity and a summary report.
Time Tracking - This module is for managing employees and time expended on various tasks and projects. Monitor employee workload and generate reports that provide information on hours billed by employee, project or client.

LIMS Maintenance - This module is a central location to enter and edit information that is used throughout the LIMS such as sites, collectors, client contacts, employees, permissions, sample numbering format, tests, methods, limits, QC information, departments and numerous defaults.
