Requirements
MTOOL 3 is an easy-to-use application which allows you to customize all your LABS/Q® screens. MTOOL 3 is an independent windows application, but if a LABS/Q® screen in your opinion is not meeting your requirements you can even start it directly from LABS/Q®. Then MTOOL 3 automatically displays the last screen accessed in LABS/Q®. You can now customize this screen and after saving the changes you can see them in LABS/Q® without having to leave the system! If you want to customize your screens without having access to the LIMS database at the moment, you can also save your changes to files and upload them later when you have access to the database again.
Solution
In MTOOL 3 you are able to define different sets of screen masks, to customize them, to save them to the LIMS database and to display the different screen mask sets depending on the individual LABS/Q® user's job type. Of course you can define your screen labels in any font installed on your operating system (e. g. Chinese double byte fonts). The tool allows you to predefine different styles with individual fonts, font styles and sizes, to assign these styles to labels and to display them in MTOOL 3 exactly as they will be displayed later in LABS/Q®. You can also use more than one language and switch between them within one minute by simply changing a single environment variable.
