The analytical department at Coastal Chemical Co., LLC offers extensive internal QC testing for the chemicals that they produce and market. In order to sustain their high quality level in the chemicals they produce and also to conform to all required regulations and standards, QC testing is performed constantly. Coastal Chemical required a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) that was powerful, efficient, user friendly, easily customizable and could be rapidly implemented. Coastal Chemical wanted a LIMS for the purposes of sample tracking, customizable reports, email capability and a Windows environment. They also wanted the ability to grow and needed an accelerated implementation time. Sample Master® LIMS was chosen because it met all of these requirements and more, affording Coastal Chemical the opportunity to leverage a powerful LIMS package while still being able to meet the changing needs of the laboratory and market.
A great deal of efficiency has been realized by Coastal Chemical and even more is expected in the near future. Being able to login a sample quickly, track its progress and location throughout the laboratory, along with QC, invoicing, and reporting has given Coastal Chemical the opportunity to spend more time on testing rather than on managing manual paperwork. The ability to quickly create and email reports has provided a strategic business advantage. Coastal Chemical has realized cost savings since work previously outsourced can be done internally with rapid dissemination of results.
