Sample Master® at Access Analytical Laboratories Inc.:
Access Analytical Laboratories required an affordable, full-featured LIMS system that would track samples from receipt in the laboratory to reporting to clients with a complete chain of custody. Specific features that they required from a LIMS system included ease of use, sophisticated reporting, instrument integration and the ability to comply with Access Analytical Laboratories high quality standards. Sample Master® was selected because it fulfilled all of Access Analytical Laboratories’ LIMS requirements.
Sample Master® LIMS allowed users to easily customize the software to the laboratory’s terminology. This feature made the LIMS user friendly for the laboratory staff. Sample Master® LIMS also allowed users to customize their own report style including internal batch sheets, as well as analytical reports that are sent to clients, even client-specific report formats and pdf files, which can be e-mailed. The LIMS database administrator also has the ability to customize the pull down menu in the LIMS. Sample Master® LIMS handles reporting, e-mailing and invoicing tasks automatically with custom functions added to the task manager. Results, method references, chromatograms and QA data are all included in these Excel/pdf files, and new features can be added as they are requested.
Instrument integration has significantly improved efficiency at Access Analytical Laboratories. Workstations convert instrument data into Excel worksheets with the format required to import them into Sample Master® LIMS, including the Perkin Elmer ICP, Dionex IC, and Agilent GC/FID and GC/MS.
Access Analytical Laboratories subscribes to the philosophy that they must utilize the best available technology to quickly supply high quality results to their clients. Therefore, they strive to provide services, which are traceable, valid and provide the best available reproducible value. As part of this philosophy, subscription to external auditing agencies, proficiency testing, detailed and traceable methodologies must be maintained and followed. Sample Master® LIMS provides a complete chain of custody and a full audit trail and is GALP and NELAC compliant. These features have helped to enhance Access Analytical Laboratories quality system and position the laboratory for growth.
