Dr. Christine Paszko will speak on ”LIMS and NELAC Compliance" with a focus on how automated Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) can greatly accelerate NELAC compliance in today's environmental laboratory. A LIMS will not only assist the laboratory in meeting its compliance goals, but enhance data quality and improve efficiency. Features such as unique sample number generation for each sample bottle, automated label printing, on-line SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures), standards tracking, automated employee training management and reminders for recertification, automated reporting including QC data and consistent data management. An automated LIMS not only eliminates mundane tasks, reduces transcriptions errors (with limit checking, automated scheduling and instrument integration) but enhances overall data quality supporting the NELAC quality objectives. This presentation will highlight several of the key ways in which an automated LIMS will facilitate NELAC compliance.
Region 6 of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is sponsoring the 18th Quality Assurance Conference at its headquarters in Dallas.
