ATL LIMS Webcast Recordings |
Accelerated Technology Laboratories have been conducting informational webcasts over the past few years on the topic of laboratory information management systems. Recently we began recording these one-hour webcasts and making them available for replay upon request. Due to a growing number of requests to view these recordings we have decided to make them available from our website. Check back as we will continue to add new webcast recordings to this page. Hopefully you will find these events informative and further enhance your LIMS knowledge especially if you are currently evaluating a possible solution for your organization.
ATL LIMS Webcast: Spotlight on the Water & Wastewater Industry
In this webcast we will focus on the challenges faced by water and wastewater utilities which include the following:
-
Critical need for improving laboratory efficiency, reducing costs and enhancing data quality.
-
Data maintained in paper logbooks or unstructured spreadsheet files becomes increasingly difficult as the amount of information increases. End result is an increase in time spent managing data and likelihood of data interpretation errors.
-
Need to eliminate manual data entry and associated data transcription errors by interfacing laboratory instruments to a LIMS.
-
Ability to generate a complete audit trail to maintain/verify data integrity.
-
Growing demand at the management level for graphical analysis of historical LIMS data to make better decisions.
Joining ATL for this webcast is John Keith, Manager of Laboratory Services, for the City of Lincoln (NE) Water System (LWS). Lincoln Water System has implemented ATL Sample Master ® LIMS and John will be talking about their journey from LIMS evaluation to implementation and providing valuable insight on what benefits LWS has gained from their investment in Sample Master ®.

ATL LIMS Webcast: Spotlight on the Meat & Poultry Industry
In this webcast we will focus on the challenges faced by meat and poultry processing firms. These include:
-
Critical need for ensuring a safe food supply through improvements in laboratory efficiency and data quality.
-
Using a LIMS to ensure HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) compliance.
-
Need to eliminate manual data entry and associated data transcription errors by interfacing laboratory instruments to a LIMS.
-
Ability to provide complete trace back capabilities from farm to table.
-
Need to have real-time access to food quality data and trends and be automatically alerted to potential out-of-compliance situations.
-
Using a LIMS to reduce operational costs and increase product shelf life and profitability.
Joining ATL for this webcast are two special guests:
-
James Faison, VP of Science & Quality, for Marshall Durbin, one of the nation’s leading poultry processors. Marshall Durbin has implemented ATL Sample Master® LIMS and James will be talking about their journey from LIMS evaluation to implementation and providing valuable insight on what benefits the firm has gained from their investment in Sample Master®.
-
Eugene Vickers, Sr., Chief-Accredited Laboratory Program, for the USDA – Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). The Accredited Laboratory Program (ALP) accredits non-federal analytical chemistry labs to analyze meat and poultry food products and is strong believer that a LIMS can help ensure ongoing accreditation. Eugene will provide an overview of the ALP for those meat and poultry producers and commercial food testing laboratories interested in the program.
