ATL LIMS Installation Services |
|
ATL recognizes that a "one size fits all" implementation plan is not the precise approach for a successful installation and implementation. Laboratories vary in size and in complexity of their requirements. We have installed LIMS in small laboratories with 5 end-users to multi-site laboratories with hundreds of users. We recognize that a business cannot stop during the installation and implementation of a LIMS. As a result, ATL project engineers and account managers work closely with you to prepare an installation plan that does not interfere with your business objectives.
Our installation/implementation plan is the result of years of experience and customer feedback on the most efficient and productive utilization of the client's time and resources. The description below provides a brief overview of our processes; there are various checklists, specification, customization, validation, hardware and software reviews prior to the final acceptance review in accordance with ATL's Quality Management System.
Following the receipt of the purchase order, an ATL account manager is assigned to the project and an installation team is established based on the expertise of the team members and the client's industry. The client is sent a pre-installation checklist that requests additional information on the laboratory, instrumentation to be interfaced, existing hardware and software and any special data management or reporting requirements that the laboratory may have. Once the checklist is returned to the ATL account manager, it is disseminated to the other members of the team that then meet to review the checklist and prepare a list of questions or comments, if applicable. Next, a conference call or pre-installation site visit is scheduled with the client to discuss the elements of the pre-installation checklist; this provides both the ATL team and the customer the opportunity to discuss any open issues and to review the installation process.
A Gantt chart is then created that outlines the tasks that must be completed prior to installation. It typically includes action items that must be completed by set time lines that were previously agreed upon. Dates are set for the onsite installation and training.
The LIMS installation team will confirm that the proposed solution is adequate for the intended use and will verify that the system has been installed and properly configured to meet the client's specifications. We will also make certain that the end-users and database administrators were trained on the items included in the training manuals and that all questions were satisfactorily addressed.
